I said I wasn't going to build myself another bow this year.
However, after messing with several scrape pieces of wood over the past few days I may change my mind. :knothead:
While I was doing the glue up I got to see the real colors come out in the woods.
Really dark Black Walnut, Red Elm and Maple.

Nice Troy, you gonna name the bow checker board? LOL
That's really nice Troy. I was thinking of doing something similar but haven't gotten up the courage yet. Do you have any in-progress pics? It'd be cool to see the process.
I think with those, you might be able to hypnotize the deer before you shoot!! You are getting sleepy! LOL
Jim,
"You are getting sleepy!"
Now that made my day. :biglaugh:
Didn't take any in-progress pics. I never worked on it more than about 20 minutes at a time. Too much other things going to spend alot of time at any one session.
Can't say what came over me to start something like this. You how it is when your looking at something and all of a sudden that pile of scrap just shows you what it has to offer.

A bit busy for my taste, but interesting nonetheless.
Those are cool Troy! I've made similar patterns to put in cutting boards and into turning projects. Should look good as a limb veneer.
Actually Troy, I think they look great, maybe a bit of western turquoise inlay or something in the riser might set them off
Jim
I like those, be sure to post pictures when your done.

those are cool!!
Once I see how many veneers this billet makes I may have a set or two for sale. If so I'll be posting them on my thread over at the Sponsors Classified.
