while i was trying to heat bend my board bow i noticed it started to crack, can this be fixed by wrapping and glue or on the belly is it dead?

Which way do the cracks run, across the limb or along the limb? Pics would help.

I've had the belly side of a recurve crack or actually splinter at the bend. I soaked it well with super glue and sanded it smooth.
 What wood?

Hey Fishbowl, I am in Newburgh. If the board bow doesn't work out I would be glad to give you one of my hickory staves drying in my garage. Half an hour south on the thruway. Glen
