Hey guys I'm looking for a nice piece of myrtle or imbuia for a Hill-style bow riser.  Any recommendations?  Thank you.

I have had success finding Myrtle on the big auction site in the past.  Might check with The Rosewood Shop as well.

I have had about 50/50 luck buying wood from auction site people who don't know bow wood..high moisture content was always the main problem. I bought some nice "auction site" "kiln dried" Chechen and highly figured hard maple that has been drying for 3 years and is still has too much moisture to use..and I have got some good deals there too. try some of the Trad Gang sponsors, people like Big Jim, two tracks or kennym may have what you need. 3Rivers has Shedua that may work for you..I now drive 75 -100 miles to buy 8/4 boards of exotic woods

Myrtle is hard to come by here in the east.  Kenny M didn't even have any when I was looking for some.  Send IdahoCurt (the bowyer at Hunter Bows) a pm.  That's where I got mine.
