Started on my first recurve today, a 62" take down. Riser block in the oven. Question, I have .050 glass for one side and .043 glass for the other. I was thinking .043 on the belly and .050 on the back. One tapered lam on belly side, parallel lam on back. Am I thinking right?
I would switch the glass around...thinner piece on back given glass is stronger in tension than compression. All else sounds good. Post some pics when you get her shaped up.
If I`m not totally confused the first way is right because glass is not stronger in tension than in compression! (except you want do some really heavy trapping on the back!)
Your right Brad, .043 on back. Basically same as trapping only width remains constant.
Very nice.That thing looks fast--Joe

Since I created a new recurve album and "whoops" eliminated all the photos, here is a link to the photo-book album.
