Title: Bowstring material B50-B55
Post by: macksdad on March 02, 2013, 08:36:00 AM
I have several spools of Brownells B50 and I recently purchased some BCY B55 does anyone know if these two are compatible material they feel and look the same. I wanted to mix a couple of the colors but didn't want to mix them if they are not compatible .
Thanks Steve

I wouldn't be afraid to mix them together.

I have mixed different types of fast flight with good results. I am sure that would be fine. I just would not mix fast flight and Dacron on a non fast flight bow.

It's the same dacron material, the b-55 is slightly bigger in diameter,  so to keep the bundles the same size yopu could, for instance make a 12 strand string, with 5 strands of B-55 and 7 strands of B - 50 and it would be close enough.
