After putting tip over lays on my takedown limbs, I placed them back in my oven to help them cure. When I removed the limb I noticed a white spot under the glass.

In the picture that is not a glare, that white spot appeared after being in my oven. I thought about putting an over lay over it to hide it. Any suggestions?
Hi Perry,
Not just the specks, but the right side larger area in pic?
Did you heat it back up to full temp?
And was that near the heat source?
Large spot on right side of pic. It was laying in bottom of oven a good ways from heat source. Any way to save it?
I wonder if it got a little warm . I've put bows back in the oven on full heat after gluing a riser in several pcs, but they were clamped under pressure.
I would shoot it a bit and see if it gets any bigger, which I don't think will happen in that area. Then overlay it.
Can you feel that the glass is loose or anything?
If so, thin CA now, then shoot awhile...
My first thought was it got hot. I can't see that the glass is loose. I've tried to pull it up with my fingernail.what do you mean by thin and CA. Bear with me I'm still learning. Thanks for your help.
After further examination, the glass is loose. How do I fix it? Thanks!!
Oh sorry! CA is superglue, I would take some thin (not gel) CA and try the edge of the glass anyway and see if it wicks under.
Perry i dont want to speak for Kenny but i think he means if you can feel an edge like there is a gap under the glass soak it with thin ca glue (AKA thin super glue)then if it were me id put a clamp on it and let it rest a while to let the ca glue set.Im still learning also,I think ill always be learning.
Ok, thanks. Trying to get this one done for a family member. Thanks for all your help
Sorry kenny you type faster than me..LOL!
Do you guys use a thinner to thin the super glue or just a certain type of glue?
Like kenny said Just use thin not gel.I buy mine from a hobby shop, but just thin superglue will work.It will be water thin.
I must have started sooner Scott! 1 finger here!
I never thin it.
Im guess im not the only 1 finger typer on here.Plus i cant spell S#$&. LOL!
One other question... If I can get super glue to hold under the glass, will it be ok without an overlay? Don't really want to put one on unless I need to
The super glue is doing the work. The overlay is just to hide the discoloration that you may still have after using the ca glue.
I found some super glue here at the house and it seems to do the trick. However, there will be a tad bit of discoloration, so it looks like some overlays are in order.
You might just bevel the butt of the limb till there
gone.Looks like there is plenty of material left.
Thanks VRB, I did bevel the limbs and I think it looks great!!!
