Title: Glue???????????????
Post by: Frosty the Bowman on February 03, 2013, 02:55:00 AM
O.K. as I am gearing up for my first build it occured to me that I have never asked what kind of glue do you all suggest for bow building?

Also where do you buy yours from?

I have seen a lot of references to URAC 185, but also that it is no longer available  :(

What would you all suggest, the only other thing I have seen used is Titebond III.

Suggestions Please.

Thank You

I've got a can of Urac 185 and a bag of hardner. I might trade it for something interesting...

For wood, TiteBond III, for glass smooth-on. Kenny M has the smooth on in a couple different sizes.

Weldwood Plastic Resin is very similar to Urac but with a longer shelf life and a lot cheaper. I've used it with good results on boo and hickory backed bows.

I just use smooth on for everything.
