Hold a tape measure in your hand and draw it like a bow string.

good for estimation, but can be quite different from the actual.  My favorite new method, stolen from someone else here, is take a bow and arrow, put a clothespin on the arrow on the back side, do your normal draw and the back of the bow will push the clothespin down the arrow.  measure back of pin to nock.  Worked well for my daughter's bow.

I find this works good. Put a yard stick in your chest and see where your fingers touch. That is your drawn length.
