I did a bunch of checking around and didnt find too many carbon bows that were cut past center. Just wondering what yalls opinion is.
68 inch R/D longbow carbon backed A-boo cores and glass belly. 40 pounds @ 30.
Can i cut 1/8 th past center without failure or is going to have to be center shot bow ????
Thanks
I don't known how much more strength carbon adds over glass, but I would think if the carbon is used in place of glass I would cut my shelves the same to error on the side of caution. If the carbon is used as a reinforcement you may get some extra strength out of it... Just a guess
I believe I'll go to center and not go 1/8 past to see what happens.
Phenolic I beam or build the riser wide and leave a lot of meat in the sight window. I do both and cut most of my bows 3/16 past center and most of those are carbon longbows and recurves.
God bless, Steve
Thanks Stephen ill give it go and see what happens. I usually go 1/8th for regular bows. My thoughts are since Its a phenolic reinforced riser it will bold because its only 40@30
