One thing I noticed is your taper. In the binghams design the taper goes on the bottom of the stack.       Glass                                            veneer                                           parallel                                         coretuff                                         wedge                                            coretuff                                         taper                                            glass                                                                                              Other than that I havent used any coretuff. I did put uni weft in some limbs but only one strip.

The double red coretufff will really stiffen up your limb I think...and probably add some unneeded weight.  If you want a nice red surrounding to your wedge you can make a little p lam out of coretuff and it will fade into your other core-tuff.  I did that a few times with good results

In those pics above (you can see it best in the black riser bow), I have a full length strip of core-tuff in the bow in front of the 17" riser.  On the backside of the riser, I cut a 19" strip of core-tuff, tapered both ends down to nothing  and then glued that in behind  the riser.  Then you have a strip of red core-tuff surrounding the riser and red strips run together in the lam stack down to one strip.

to taper the core tuff out to nothing would i need a sled, is this possible with something other than a sled. If no is there any way to make a sled out of wood?

I taper them all by hand. Just use a backer block and a spindle sander/ridgid sander.  It doesn't take much to go from .030 to nothing. Give it a try sometime.

It only needs a couple inches of taper.
