Here's my latest bow. Its pignut hickory, 61" NTN. 1 5/8 wide on the belly at the fades. It trapped down to about 7/8" across the back. Hence the name "Trapezium". Very, very little width taper until midlimb then tapers to 3/8", 4 " from the tips then a straight 3/8" to finish out. Pulls 50lbs. @ 27". Whitetail antler over walnut two layer tip overlays. I worked really hard on the leather for the strike plate and rest. Skived it down really thin and glued on the TB 3. Shot the first arrow at 12:15 am on Dec 22nd, my birthday. Put the last coat of Tru-oil on the 1st. Took to work today to show it off and it didn't even make it home. I truly liked it too.
Any constructive criticsm welcome.
Here's some pics.

Mods,
Photobucket obviously doesn't automatically resize your pics anymore when you upload them. I been trying to resize them but PB is acting slow as smoke in the editing dept. and I get nothing done. Bear with me.
I like it! Is that it's natural colour or did you stain the wood?
Dave.
That bow is beautiful. Well done.
Nice, and yes PB is messed up today.

One coat of Zar Rosewood. Sanded with 600. A coat of Minwas Ebony. Sanded with 600. Another coat of Ebony...Sanded with 600. Then 8 coats of Tru-oil, handrubbed with those blue shop towels on a roll like paper towels.
Really nice! Those antler tips are the bomb.
Criticsm? This is a hard place to find that. Besides, I can't pick that bow apart at all. Nice job!
I'm gonna have to try that design someday.
Nice looking bow.
I'll tell you what I don't like... It's not in my hands... :)
Great looking bow! Well done!
Looks great! Like that design....Dan
It's a beauty! Well done...
Thats really sweet. That color is great.
Thank you gentlemen. I have plans to start another of the same design. This bow was the shortest I've done so far and I really liked the lenght of it. 62 is a lot shorter in the woods than the 68 I've hunted with this season. I never even got to take Trapezium out of the yard though. Got to get busy LOL
Still can't PB to act right. I'll try again later this evening after work.
beautiful bow. you should be proud of that one.
Beautiful bow. Once again I'm sure enjoying that Kentucky country in the background.

Me too. I'm dug in here like a tick on a hound.
Still can't get nothing done in PB. don't know what's going with it. Click to resize the pics and it just freezes up.
Thanks Bear.
beautiful!!!! What kind of stain you got on it?

One coat of Zar Rosewood.
Two coats of Minwax Ebony.
I didn't like the Rosewood when I put it on. Looked kinda pinkish purple. So I attempted to darken it up with the Ebony. Took two coats to get it where I wanted it. I've noticed Minwax stain is thin and don't "take" to the wood as good as Zar. Zar is kinda thick and gelatinous and it really puts the color to the wood.
Wow...that looks fantastic. Lots of character, great color...and great pics! Nicely done.
Thank you sir.
I talked to fellow that acquired the bow yesterday to check and see if he was liking it good and that he was well satisified. He was very pleased. Said he had shot it so much that his fingers was getting sore. If I let one go from my collection, that's the kind of people I like to equip.
Nicely done, sir! She is a beautiful bow. I love the finish and the tips. Keep them coming!
So-Mo,
Working on my first Osage as we speak. Chasing a ring on a billet, then another. Got a sleeve and gonna try a take down. May switch gears though and work on my first historically correct wood core scabbard for my new Albion Crecy (longsword).
Very nice bow!
