I mean like the company your gonna use to say who made them. I kinda like Bent Arrow what do yall think
{BENT ARROW ARCHERY} it might work
If thats the name that you like then I say go with it. I like it.
In complete with "archery" it sounds really good; but bent has a certain meaning- I heard...
Not too sure on the bent part.
Wouldn't want to imply your bows bent arrows.
Names are hard to,come up with sometimes. Talking to a inner group of friends can yield results.
Good Idea about asking my freinds I might I said I might even ask the wife
Example: a friend was sitting at a camp fire with several good friends.
His initials are JPB after several, suggestions for his company name someone suggested, Just Plain Bows to match his initials. It stuck.
A good friend had a Sky Eagle he had set up again his truck and drove off running over the bow. Messed it up good. Took it back to Earl and had it cleaned up. Earl Hoyt fix the bow and you could not see any scars or dings and named the bow as Road Kill.
Good stuff right there lol. I wont be selling any of this bows just as gifts and maybe to trade for something. But if someone likes it I want them to know I made.
I live in AR and we have a river here so What about Black River Bows
I like Black River Bows more than Bent Arrow Bows. Brings to mind wild places and hunting.
If you ever decide to sell bows, it pays to think carefully about your name.
Just my 2 cents.
Have a Merry Christmas!
Dave.
Don't forget the White River in Arkansas.
"White River Extreme"
I make a self bows for myself so I usually pick a characteristic of the bow. A bow with 2 knots becomes "Two Knots". Jawge
George, a lot of my bows have names like "Try Again" or "Take 2".
I could name one "Oops",macbow. :) Jawge
My first bow macbow helped me build. I named it "uno"...dont let macbow fool you he has built some beautiful bows from what i have seen!
I live in 7 Lakes, NC & it just sounded right.
I like Black River Bows, I think that is a good match.
Black River Bows sounds great. I like to see a company give a shout out the area it is from. I don't make bows, but I do make knives. Don't sell them yet, but plan to start in the next year or two. I'm from a small town in north La called Saline. There is a small area just outside of town where I actually live known locally as Pistol Hill. I plan to sell my knives under the name Pistol Hill Cutlery.
Matt
Good stuff Tom.
Black River Bows is a good name. That's how I came up with my namefrom my local hunting spot. The creek I hunt on always seems to be dry (it is in Texas) so that's how I came up with Dry Creek Bow Company.
Lineman, I like the Black River idea, it just rolls off the tongue better I think. I call mine SoMo Archery, as an homage to South Mountain state park near my home. I grew up on that mountain and hunt and fish there all I can (there is a game land all around it). Go with what you know and love, and you can't go wrong.
I drew a logo several years ago and played with the idea of it being a company name. The name implies that deer jump the string with my bows but I liked the logo and name enough that I didn't care. It's not a big company anyway. :)
I've always enjoyed the science behind bow making, and the flight of the arrow. Plus I don't have any cool rivers or creeks near me. So I use the name Paradox Archery as my 'business' name.
Love the name Black River Bows. It actually sounded really familiar when I first read it. Like I've seen it before (but I haven't). Great name!
Joe
Well there is a black creek bows I just found do ya'll think that is to close to the same.
