Here is one I just finished. It came out okay I guess. I plan on using it for a give away here later on. It is 60 inches nock to nock and pulls 50 at 28 I think. I'll check tomorrow maybe. I also don't have a picture of full draw yet because my wife has been deer hunting and hasn't had time yet. I promise to get some better pictures instead of just these cell phone pics I just wanted to share with you guys early.

More pics as soon as I can.
Nice, like the preemptive Ok on Roy also.
Roy will have to think of something better to say... Or worse I guess. :D
WOW..that is awesome!!!!!! its a nice thing your gonna do with a give away..Im sure everyone knows someone close that has, had breast cancer, my Fiance and her mom survived breast cancer, my own mother as well...its one of those terrible disease's
It's all right I suppose. I do like the belly wood.
Way better than OK!
Dave.
That's sweet. I like the colors, did you dye the back before skinning it ?
Thanks guys. I have to talk to terry about it first, but I want to offer it up to someone who has been affected by breast cancer here on this site. So if you know someone let em know to be on the lookout. I still need to make a string for it. Right now I'm using an old one that fit. I forgot, the handle and tips have cocabolo accents.
Charles, thanks, the belly was stained with black dye then lightly sanded and then hit with cherokee red dye. Both from mike at pine hollow. The handle wrap is elk hide dyed with a mixture of the two and applied with a q-tip. The bamboo back was left natural. The rat snake just had a lot of red so I went with it.
Great looking bow Dave.
Very nice DV.... I am just guessing but that should be a very quick bow???
Hows it shoot??
It shoots well even with my heavy arrows of 600 gr. especially since I am only pulling about 45 lbs. The hackberry did alright under the boo. Only taking about one and a half inches of set. I suppose I could have toasted the belly, but you know what they say about hindsight
Nice bow like the color on the limbs.
Rob
Looks sweet...just curious but why the hackberry? Was it just out of curiosity?
Man, that is very cool!
Yeah chris it was more like , "hey I've got this ugly piece of boo and this way janked up light weight hackberry bow and also some Urac that was opened a year ago and stored in my garage... I wonder what I can so with it?"
So this is the end result.
I'll say because of its light weight it has no handshock. Im still not a big fan of hackberry, but I've not tried heat treating it that much yet. The selfbow I'm finishing does shoot well though but itis quite a bit wider. I'll probably cut down a few more logs as I've got the stuff coming out of my ears.
That is quite a pretty bow.
