Here's a couple more longbows I finished a few weeks ago. Just now getting around to posting some pics.
One is 60" NTN 49# @ 28" made of bocote and boo under glass with moroado riser.
The other is 58" NTN 53# @ 28" made of Kenny's AC/DC Desert Camo.(I love the stuff!)

Good looking bows! Your wood combinations look great.

Very nice!
Stunning!
Nice job!
Very nice David
Really nice David!!
Is that the bocote you picked out while you were here last time? :D
Really nice work!
-Jay
Nice job- I really like the look of both of them.
Nice bows David! You make great glass bows as well as self bows.
Dave.
I guess they are OK.
Kenny, it is the material I picked out last year. I have had the bow finished several months but didn't have the thunderbird on it. I really like the way it turned out. I will have to look through your wood pile again here in a few weeks. :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
Got any pics of the veneers? I was curious how they would look.
And I've seen so many since, I can't really remember them too well. :p
Kenny I do but the light at the office was not too good. I'll take some tomorrow and post them. They were a real dark chocolate color. Lots of swirls.
Very nice!!! Tony
Those are some really nice looking bows. Great job
real nice indeed Dave :clapper:
We've got some serious skills around here!!!
Well done :)
That's just plain ole beautiful
Would you mind posting a picture of the unstrung profile on those?
Id be interested to see the general limb shape for consideration in a future R/D form that I plant to build.
Thanks,
Steve
Steve, here are some unstrung pics.
Kenny, you're bocote lams turned out really nice. I loved the color. I believe I may need some more.

Them are purty!! Have to see what we can find....
That bocote is gorgeous!
Do you mind if I ask what overall taper you used? I would guess .002 or less, just because based on the braced and full draw pics, I was expecting a lot more reflex in the unstrung profile.
Thanks,
Steve
beautiful bow's and great work !
regards Thomes
Steve,
Believe it or not but it has .003 taper. I get my lams from Kenny and he puts .002 on one pair and .001 on the other. One of the pairs is called a "super lam" because he builds in the power lam for the riser area and tip wedges for the tips. I have used all amber boo for the cores. The vineers are parallel. Hope this helps.
David
Wow, those are great! If you don't mind, how did you find that limb profile to build them from? Really neat, and great skill you have
NormanDale33,
My son has a bow we used to trace the outline on a piece of cardboard and made a pattern of plywood to build the form.
Very nice bows, David.
They're both clearly incredible. I just don't know how you choose one or the other to take out shooting/hunting. Fantastic!
