This is my hunting bow now. I finally made one for myself. No skins, just air for a backing. I used this bow as a prop for a heat bending demo at mojam this past summer and have finally got around to finishing it. Tips are horn and zebrawood. Handle is deerhide from roy on tradgang. Pretty clean and straight piece except for a few pins and one knot. It has great cast and shoots well. 58in.ntn 56@26

I don't know why the other pics didn't copy right! I'm to frustrated to fix em right now. Sorry but I hate doing this all from my %$*%# phone.
Exceptional bow!
Very nicely done DV :)
That one should make meat!!!!
Looking good Dave, the deer should be lined up just to have a chance of being shot by that.
Ron
Wll Done DVS!!!!!
Nice bow, Dave. I like that little arrow rest. Doesn't look like you cut-in a shelf, but left enough wood to use after shaping the handle.
Purty nice DaveyBoy.
I like it, very nice.
Jack
Very nice lookin bow DVS. Looks like a hard hitter. BTW, I get pretty po'd tryin to do this crap from my phone too. :help:
Looks great. Very nice job. I like that knot
Well that one turned out great.
Beautiful, great work! Love the tips and the handle wrap.
That is gorgeous!
That is a nice looking bow Dave and I'm sure that it shoots as good as it looks. I have one like it that Dave built for me last year and it's one of the finest shooting wood bows that I own.
Great looking bow.
I like that profile!
Looks like perfection to me!!! :notworthy:
sexy bow!
Thanks everyone. It's been over two years since I made one for myself. Honestly I still have two that I promised to other people, but I just couldn't wait any longer. I'm probably gonna close down the shop for a bit to finish getting ready for bowseason. Well, I'll still be on the shop, but only nights. Lol once you start, it's hard to stop ain't it?
I guess it's ok:)
That thing is awsome. I love the braced profile. I've haven't done an osage selfbow yet. It doesn't grow here. Seeing that beauty makes me want to go find some though. Fine work Dave.
Glad you got the tiller figured out on that bow. Bow looks even better in person.
Thanks everyone. Even Roy. Haha
Dan I had to get it finished so I can go after the mullberry. Im just nervous about the rings.
David that is a beauty. Congratulations, good luck on your hunts my friend
Nice work dave. I like that little shelf.
DVS, it's been a couple years since I made me a bow too. I have an Osage Selfbow in the shop, that's been cut out and sanded to bow shape since last November, it was at 10% moisture content when I cut her to shape last year. All she needs is string grooves cut in and put on the tree. I fugger it should be well seasoned by now, and it will be a month or two before I get her on the tree. Really looking forward to tillering her, just something different about working on your own Bow:) Kinda just makes ya all wet and giggly inside..
That is a beauty Dave. Very appealing to the eye and I bet it does put em out there. Hope you get to put a big one down with it.
Sweet little bow there. I like the shelf detail.
Thanks everyone. It means a lot coming from the bench.
She works.

Had no doubts about the bow performing well. But, if you are like me, the shooter sometimes doesn't perform so good. Way to go!
 :notworthy: Well done ...on the bow and the deer!!
Congrats, Dave. Is Chris there Bird dogging or to help drag her out?
Congrats man !!!!!
Congrats..thats great..heck I want DVSHUNTER bow now
Well done... in all regards.
Congrats Dave, bet that doe made you feel good inside.. ^ 5 Roy
...And that's why we build them.
Congrats and nice shot!
Good job on the bow & deer.
Rob
Sweet! on all fronts!

Glenn
Well Done DVS!!!!
Roy, actually it made me feel fine, but Chris had his tenderloin a bit too raw and had a few cramps the next morning. But it was good. Fresh never frozen. Stuffed with spinach tomatoes and pepperjack cheese then wrapped in bacon and grilled to perfection, at least mine was.
Good job, Dave! Beautiful doe.
I've noticed your quiver rig in other pics. Could you show a little more detail of that piece of equipment?
I want something a little more user-friendly than the cheapo quiver I've been using.
Dave make sure you post that on the Missouri season topic.
