I successfully managed to laminate my first bow. Its a long bow made of hickory backed lemon wood with a bamboo core. The bow is 1.5" in width at the fades and the limbs have a straight taper to .5" limb tips. The bow was laminated with three inches of reflex and is 61" overall. Also, the limbs taper in thickness from handle to tips.My questions is about the tiller. Do I tiller the limbs in the Arc of Circle fashion since its pyramid shaped or do I tiller them from mid limb like I see other reflex bows. Any and all replies will greatly be appreciated.

You want both limbs to bend evenly and together from the fades to just short of the tips. A true pyramid style bow doesn't taper in thickness so the tiller is determined by the shape(width taper) of the limbs.
Thanks for answering Pat. I just finished putting the nocks overlay's on this morning. This evening I'll post a pic of the bow with a short string(not braced)on my tiller tree. I'm new at this and I appreciate the info that you and other folks leave.

Sean, if you go to a short string the bow will be braced. Make your first brace low, like 3" and see how things line up.
Pat, thanks for the info on the shape of the limbs. Here are the pictures of my bow after working on it today. After looking at the pictures I can see where the corrections need to be made. The left limb is the bottom limb and it looks a bit stiff. The top limb on the right is bending a little to much at the fade. let me know what you think.

The left limb is the bottom limb and it looks a bit stiff. The top limb on the right is bending a little to much at the fade, you are correct. Sean do you have a tillering gizmo?

I have one that I made. Its basically a 6"x2" block with a pencil in the middle. For some reason the top limb on the right started to bend at the fade right from the jump. I think I know what to do for the stiff limb but I'm uncertain how to address the top limb. It bends nicely and follows through to the tip. Its still on the heavy side, about 65lbs so I have some room for correction I think. My goal is to have a hunting weight bow correctly tillered. Shooting for 55lbs but I'll be happy with 50.
I guess the extra bending in the top limb might have something to do with the arrow shelf that I cut in. I knew I shouldnt have done that.
