That's about all thats thriving in this prolonged heat and drought.
I've been working on this 52 inch sinew backed mesquite for a while. Heavily influenced by Ed Scott. A very pleasant 40 lbs at 26 inches. Made a little mesquite handled knife to go with it.

Really sweet looking bow, the knife is great too.
Thats some nice gear Charles.
That knife is sweet.
Did you study with Ed Scott or just study his work? Very nice either way. Hope the heat and drought give you some relief soon,
CTT

Beautiful craftsmanship on those pieces for sure, great job!!!!!
That's a slick combo. I hope to get some mesquite cut this month before the deer hunters show up.

Awesome little bow Charles. Although the full draw would look better with you're other model. ;)
That's a set knife to. I really like the profile of it.

Love em both, and that damascus steel knife is beautiful! Both works of art.

That is a sweet looking bow. I tried to make a Ed Scott type bow and mine didn't turn out to well. Thanks for sharing. Dean
Did you make your own Damascus? I love the pattern and shape. Great set, thanks for sharing.
Guess I learned something new today. Never thought mesquite was good for anything other than the BBQ.
The knife is a stud!!!
Great work on both.

All of those items are of the highest quality. Well Done!
That's one sexy set up. I was always wondering if mesquite would make a good bow wood.
Nice combo there!

snakewood3
do you have build along for this?
or do you think making one?
best.
Dano,
You have some real friends here that miss your wit and wisdom. Please don't be a stranger.
Chuck, Thanks for the fine compliments.
inksoup, I do not have a build along. A rare piece of mesquite that gave up and became a bow. About 500 grains dry weight of elk sinew per limb. Titebond 3 and some luck. It has a few hundred arrows across it before I put snake skins on it. If you have any questions please ask here or pm.
