Has anyone out there tried to/have built a bow out of a Bottle Brush Bush/Tree?
Have a friend that wants to give it a try.
Any help or suggestins would be great.
Thanks, Johnny/JAG
Johnny I don't think I have ever heard of a bottle brush tree. Can you post a pic?
We have them everywhere out here, very twisty, knotty wood.
I have to trim the neighbors every year, does not seem like a good bow wood candidate, but I have not tried it.
Cheers Kurt
That is a pretty tree, does it fruit or nut at all?
Don't have a picture of one. It looks just like its name, Bottle Brush. Most are a deep red blossom. The honey bees love it. As far as nuts or fruit, I've never noticed any.
A friend was just wondering if it could be used for bow wood. It'd have to get alot bigger than the ones I've seen. Have heard that if you don't trim it will get large. We keep ours cut back, next to the kitchen door. Leaves are kinda rough/spikie.
Thanks guys.
If he make a bow, I'll sure try to post pictures.
JAG/Johnny
I honestly thought this was a joke, my neighbor has a bottle bush in her yard that actually has different colored bottles on it.
Here is a link to some good pictures of it.

we have a bottlebrush over here that is a member of the Callistimon genus from memory. don't know anything about its suitability though. It has a wide variety of flower types and is usually ornamental
I tried to find the specific gravity of the tree but drew a blank.
