Title: tapers

How does one find the thicknes  of the tapers and parallels he needs to build abow. I WOULD LIKE TO BUILD A LAM BOW  62" 45 50 LBS.  How many tapers would I NEED  and what 000 per inch  and also on the parallels.  [thickness} Thank you. Buck

Best way to do it is use a know design such as binghams or I think Kenny may have one. If you want to do your own design you will more than likely have to make an educated guess on your first bow and that will give you a baseline to get the 2nd one correct. For my longbows I typically do one .002 taper and the rest parallel. Best of luck and show us your progress.
