Title: specs
Post by: Scrilla761 on July 05, 2012, 10:53:00 PM
anyone got any specs on a longbow for an itty bitty 16yr old girl who can probably only pull back 25-30lbs? i did a little research and found that i should make the longbow her height which is 5 foot or 60inches ntn. I'm just not sure on the limb thickness and all that jazz!

Preference on wood? Red Oak?

I made a 52" TTT holmie out of maple backed with deer rawhide cant remember the exact specs but if your interested in something like that I could measure it up it was an experiment and I ended up with 30 pounds at 28".

she has a 19in draw...forgot to throw that one in there. it would be almost like making a kid bow...needs to be all wood...i don't have the experience quite yet to do laminations! any other ideas. thought about making a red oak self bow at about 48in ntn????
