Today I went to the PA Longbow Association shoot in Marsh Hill and I had the pleasure of finally meeting Roy (Roy from PA) in person. We shot the $#!+ for a while in the morning before I met up with ghost rob (Rob Dedrick) and his daughter Chelsea for some shooting (It's always a pleasure to shoot with Rob and Chelsea.) Roy showed me a couple of his fine BBO bows, and let me tell ya, the man is a true craftsman!! Absolutely stunning and I'm amazed what he can do without the use of fiberglass. Roy's wife Kris (or is it Cris) is a real sweetheart too and he's a lucky man.
When Rob, Chelsea and I were finished shooting for the day and they headed back to NY, I stopped back over at Roy's camp, enjoyed a couple cold ones, and they offered me an excellent dinner of hot sausage done on the grill.
So Roy - It was great finally meeting you in person and thank you for the hospitality. I just hope I stayed on your good side so I don't end up on that "thumpin' list" of yours. Your OK, I guess, no matter what others say about you around here.
I've never had the pleasure of meeting him in person but he helped me a lot when I was having boo trouble on my swap bow this year. Great guy.
I'm assuming that because of his samsquatch like appearance that you didn't bother to take pics?
Either way it sounds like a good time.
Roy? Hmmm, yeah, he's alright I suppose.
:dunno:
I'd punch him square in the nose if ever met him.........dont care if he is 87, or whatever he is. Then I'd take his bows and sell 'em after I kept the best one back for me.

Its the best time to pick on him Kenny. He's vulnerable. Besides I think the truck is his wifes truck. He has an 87' Accord......
Was nice meeting you too, John. The wife's name is Chris. It was a long 5 days of brown bottles and good food and good friends. I tired now..
That's a nice bow you made, John. And that truck got 12 miles a gallon pulling the trailer up all those mountains, I was impressed..
Now for the rest of yunzs smartys pants, ya all made the list again:)
Never met roy in person but I got his trad bow this year and he gave me some bull about it not being anything special. If it was nothing special I would hate to hold one of his special ones.
I may hafta get one of Roy's special ones. We may have rode the short bus together.
Kenny your bow is a little special.. I remember you now, you were the short pudgy kid with the thick glasses:)
You got that mostly , but no glasses, could still see then!
Kenny - Roy showed me the bow he was making you. It is special. Here's a pic.

Cool!! LOL
That's bow screams "built by roy"
Looks like he stepped it up a notch though.
LMAO
DANG Kenny! You must be special. Roybert never uses black tape for his grips. Its always been silver duct tape. He went all out on that one.
Is Roy going to be at Standing Stone this weekend?
You guys are a riot!
No on standing stone.
Good then I can go. LOL. I was hopeing you meet you young man.
Was that 'standing stoned'? Now that would be a feat! LOL :bigsmyl:
Red, LMAO.
Been there done that, and it never worked out..
