Does this tiller look funny to anyone. I made the string level with the grid lines then marked the string then drew it to 22". Then in the next picture it is at 28" (my draw). The at rest picture is to show you how I marked the string. Am I doing it wrong. The tiller is 3/8 strong on the lower limb. (smaller dimension) http://www.flickr.com/photos/78595324@N03/
If you watch the first picture with the bow at rest you can clearly see that the tiller is far off. The distance from the upper end of the riser ( fade out ) to the string is much greater than on the lower end. The upper limb is to weak compared to the lower limb, thats the reason why they bend so uneven. You need to weaken the lower limb.

Thank you. Now how do I know where to put the string on the tiller stick. Did I make cense in putting the bow string parallel to the grin lines. Because you can move where the string is and change where the limb tips are sitting at draw.

That makes sense to me. Like this it's easier to compare the limbs. On the picture at full draw you can see that the lower limb bends much less that the upper limb. You can make it weaker by sanding the glass on the back of the bow. But go slowly and check often how it's coming along. I always sand like 10 - 20 strokes, string the bow, pull it a couple times and check the tiller. I repeat this procedure until the tiller is where I want it.
