Ok so I have them prepped for a backing but seeing as I have never done this before and I don't see any fish skin alongs I'm going to need some help.
I have a question about putting on the finish. These pockets seem pretty raised to me so how does one go about getting the finish on smooth?
I cant help u on the carp skin backing as I have never done that before but I do like your bowfishing setup you got there. I drilled a hole in my handle section and screwed my reel seat in but I had thought about doing it like yours. What do you have your reel strapped on with?
I'll bet Ole Keenan will get a woodie when he see's this thread.

Haha yeah Roy thats what happen to me when I saw his carp skin last year.
Ask and ye shall receive! My cousin keeps pulling out carp faster than I can skin them!
Thanks John I'll take a look.
Okie I just have these big rubber bands from my work that I cut in half and then tie around the bow and reel with pieces of the rubber bands sliced and layer under the real so the reel doesn't have direct contact with the bow. Its not the best but it gets the job done. I thing you could substitute bicycle inter tubes though.
take that yea swimmin rat...they're gonna look sweet on a bow
Ok she's drying out now... Its unbelievable how hard and tough that skin is!
