Title: Elm Variety
Post by: Steven_CO on April 29, 2012, 10:54:00 PM
I see where there are a few bows made of elm.  Is any variety of elm ok for a self-bow?  There area  lot Asian (Siberian?) elm trees where I live and I wasn't sure if that was the good enough for a longbow or not.

Any elm is good elm as long as its alive when you cut it.

Thanks.

I'll be taking down some branches and attempting to dry them then.
