After removing the bark and allowing to dry for several months, do you remove the cambium layer? I tried to leave it on my first bow thinking it would be like a backing, but it popped off during tillering. that first bow turned out to be 28 lbs. Oh well my grandson needed a bow.
If you cut it in the growing season the cambium will peel off with the bark. If its winter cut I would take the cambium and bark off at the same time. You can leave spots of the cambium on for camo if u want to.
