Title: I've got a problem....
Post by: BrushWolf on April 21, 2012, 08:56:00 PM
Alright maybe it's time to accept that I have a problem. I went to the local exotic wood store today. I told myself I wasn't going to spend any money, that I was just looking. But you know how that goes!  After sorting thru the entire lot of macasser ebony I ended up coming home with this beauty.

On my last visit I purchased an exceptionally figured piece of bocote. I think these two will be a match made in heaven. Just can't decide on limb veneers..... Maybe another trip to the wood shop will solve that!    :bigsmyl:

That Mac ebony is some pretty stuff.  I see another trip to the wood store in the near future.

I love going to the wood store even if I don't buy anything (which hasen't happened yet)  That ebony sure is sweet looking stuff.

Always a good way to spend some free time.

I vote brown glass and diamondback skins rather than exotic veneers

Never skinned a bow before.... but that's a thought. Here's the piece of bocote I got when I went the last time.

I can hardly wait to get a riser made out of these two.  :)  There is definitely going to be alot of "planning" on this one. Don't want to screw anything up.

I'd say cut the lam blank at an angle up thru that purty grain , then you get to throw away the rest of the board!!  LOL

Just kiddin!!

I think it will be a killer bow!
