Title: Urac 185 to glue takedown sleeves?
Post by: mississippidave on March 01, 2012, 11:37:00 AM
Hey folks,  Just got my billets ready to glue up for the 2012Idaho bearhunt bow im building.  I don't have any smooth on but I do have some Urac, just wondering if ya'll think that would work OK...I'm not sure of it's gap filling properties....Thanks in advance, Dave

If it has glass or phonlic in it URAC won't work. Don

URAC has great gap filling properties, but it's for wood to wood only, not for glass like Don has stated.

Get some Defcon 30 minute two part epoxy Dave, works great and gives you some wiggle room if you want to make adjustments before it cures.

Thanks guys!  Got some Defcon epoxy....I was stoked that I got the sleeve to billet at such a good tolerance....Doesn't always go that way with me...By the way the Krewson fix is holding great Eric!  Shot it yesterday.  It's still my favorite!

When gluing metal to wood I have had excellent results with MT-13.
