Three years ago at my first MOJAM I met some really great people. One of them I promised a bow to for breaking an arrow of hers. Anyway, I had one made for her already but before it could make it to her it exploded. Well I have stayed in contact with James (No Nose) and since then she has joined the core like her dad. I am going to give this one to her dad at Mojam this year and until then, I'm doing the tatoo thing on the limbs. I will let it up to her as to when the stickers come off. I'm not a big fan of the gold glitter, but the letters weren't bad and thats all I wanted anyway.

Good deal Brad. We missed you last year.
Beautiful! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper: Any Marine would be proud to have it!
Great bow and greater gesture, DVS.

You're a better man than I am...When I break someones arrow I point and laugh and if I send one down the shaft that thing comes home with me. Hmmm...I wonder if people really like me afterall.
Beautiful bow!
Nice work DVS!
How stinking cool is this?...Way!!!!.. I'm saying...
You did an awesome job Dave!
Thanks for sharing!
God bless, Mudd
PS: looking at bows like this one tells me I made a good choice to stop calling the things I tried to build bows. Everything that I ever built was just a stick and a string by comparison.
Awesome bow! I want one to.
Thanks everyone.
Pearl, I'll put you on the list. :)
Nimrod- if I broke her arrow while shooting I would have laughed. :) . This arrow, has a little story behind it. Let's just say, never assume an arrow you find doesn't have someone looking for it and breaking an arrow behind someone's back when they come to full draw has karma issues that go with the prank. :knothead:
This bow deserves WAY more attention than its getting. Its gorgeous. The braced profile is spotless and the work is spotless.
Very nice Dave.
Pearl, you should see it in person. It wasn't done when I saw it, but I was in awe anyway.

I'm still working on the tattoo. The bow spent yesterday in the sun and today under the uv light. The colors have already darkened enough to see the outline of the stickers.
Thanks pearl, Roy and Scott.
Scott, I will bring it tomorrow and let you shoot it if you want to. It's okay in speed shooting a 520gr arrow 167fps. Right about normal for my caul.
awesome!
Sweet Dave, very sweet indeed!!!
Really love that profile
I'm falling in love with boo backed bows. This one is no exception! Great work.
Dan
It is a really nice bow. Saw it yesterday and thought Dave was going to have to fight Graybuffalo for it.
It came close. That is a good looking bow. Dave did have to help pry my fingers off it.
Anybody else think dave should do a how to on that uv tattoo process he is playing with? Its pretty sweet.

There aint much to it. Finish the bow like you normally would, then buy sticker or use anything that will block the light and then leave it in the sun as often as possible. The new osage will darken pretty quick even with the little bit of sun we have this time of year. By the time MOJAM gets here, it will be pretty dark.
This is a picture of me "working" on the tattoo.

This is one finished.

A little over a month of sunning and it is definitly darker. Here it is next to "fresh sanded" osage. It should get much darker in the next three months. I'm still putting it outside almost everyday and still putting it under a uv light at night or when its raining. I keep peeling the stickers back to sneak a peak. I gotta stop doing that.

Nice bow and nice gesture.
The story behind the bow is FUNNY. You gotta love a good time.
Nice job David
Looks amazing! Your going to have to sell some staves to pay for a membership at stl tan company though....
Alright I finally took the stickers off and put the final coast of finish on her. I had my friend Glenn make up a special red white and blue string from show me strings. She is ask ready to head off to her new owner before she gets deployed. I snapped a few more pics to show how the tattoo turned out.here they are.

Awesome bow, David.
Very nice! Will you break one of my arrows?
I seen it yesterday. The bow is really sharp in person.
