I'm just finishing up on this bow. It is my PA Trade Bow. HHB, 64"t/t. about 55#@28" and a sweet shooter. I've put over 50 narrows through her today, put on 4 or 5 coats of Tru-Oil(a few more coming), added cow horn overlays and a hemp cord handle wrap with a floppy rest. There is still some of the cambium on the back. I opted not to add any other decorations except the tip overlays. This bow was built to hunt. It shoots my 650gr tapered ash and hill cane arrows well at 26" so I can only imagine how 28" will be. She is tillered out to 29". Here is a peek...

Yep, another masterpiece!
Nice Pat!
looks great pat! can we see more of it?
Love it!
You forgot to show us a pic of the handwritten specs that says for blackhawk....yup...that's gonna look nice in my hands roving thru the pa woods :goldtooth:
Looks good pat..its gonna make someone happy
She's not quite ready for more exposure right now Ruddy. I'll get more pics up when she is done...handwritten specs and all!
Fine looking bow Pat.
That's a beauty Pat! :clapper:
Nice looking bow Pat. I like that strung profile angle picture.
Nice lines Pat
Like I said on another site..."I'm loving me some HHB bow wood..."! This stuff is as good as hickory and elm. It has seasoned for about 6 years so being well seasoned really makes a difference.
Pat, great job as always! Is it a bend through the handle design? I really like to work with HHB also, plan to cut some more this spring....Dan
Well done ....as always!!
Very Nice. I just replaced my Heat gun and will be back to work on a HHB again today.
Pete
Dan, this handle is stiff but the limbs bent to the handle.
Great lookin bow Pat. I gotta get some of that hhb, heard lots of good stuff about it.
I guess it's ok:)
Very nice!

Definitely a nice bow! That left-over cambium does make a nice camo.
I want one of those!!

I'm ashamed that I'm the only one that doesn't understand what HHB means. Is it hickory-backed-hickory? All these, "BBO, BBI, IBO, etc." is new to me.
That is a nice looking bow. Finishing up a hhb bow myself and I'm hooked. need to find some more.
Steve, Hop Hornbeam.
Dave.
One of my recent HHB's ended up very light, but nice. It's 62" I toasted the belly and put some reflex in it , but it is now only 36# at 28".If I sinue the back what can I hope to achieve in weight gain.
Pete
You might get 10# Pete. Find a kid to give it to.
SteveB, HHB is Hop Hornbeam like Dave said. It works very similar to hickory or even elm.
Great looking bow Pat.
Looks great. Want pics of the handle and/or full draw.
10# would be fantastic, I would be happy as all get out with 6 or 8, even 5 .
I just put the first coat of finish on 2 maple bows to give to kids yesterday. This one might just go that Kid route too, but it would also be a great one to learn to use Sinue on. If I live long enough, and try hard enough, I might be able to build one like yours. On the positive note everyone that goes sour has given me a wealth of experience on where I went wrong and how to salvage something from mistakes.
