Title: bow finish?
Post by: wood carver 2 on February 21, 2012, 05:33:00 PM
Just a question about finishing a bow. I have 3 coats of Tru-oil on my #2 bow and it looks amazing. As if it was dipped in liquid glass.
As pretty as it is I'm thinking of sraying on a coat of low gloss poly. Would this take away from the clarity of the finish? The grain really popped with the tru-oil.
Dave.

I do this with all my bows. I'd put another couple of coats of Tru-Oil then hit it with the satin spray poly. It gives a nice gloss free finish.

Thanks Pat. I think I'll look at it for another day or so then I'll spray it.  :goldtooth:
