This is #9 and my first bow using Osage. It's also my first time using snake skins.
I used the masking tape, TB3 and ace bandage method from a thread I found here. My only warning to other is don't over soak your skins. It all worked out but I almost lost one.
Bows not done yet but getting close... I can see why you guys love Osage :)
The bow on the right is my Yew Tradgand Trade Bow

Making some nice looking bows Ryan! You are cranking em pretty fast too! I like all the different designs and types your making.
Nice looking bow! Great brown color on those skins. Real camo!
kip, you are making some fine lookin bows.i guess having a bandsaw helps speed the process up. ive been participating in the "no power tools selfbow challenge" rv
Thank you Mitch, Steve Rudy....
Ruddy that band saw saves a ton of pain on my shoulders.... I still use hand tools for most of the work. I am a maniac with a rasp and my files.... Man I love this stuff :)
Now if I can only figure out how to tiller a truck leaf spring for the "Scavenger Bow Challenge Thread" :scared:

Kip

QuoteNow if I can only figure out how to tiller a truck leaf spring for the "Scavenger Bow Challenge Thread"
Plasma cutter for the profile, angle grinder to clean it up, aircraft cable for string, 3000# winch to string it, rebar for an arrow and apply to Alaska for a whale permit. :)
Already comes with some nice natural reflex.
Very nice Kip.
Looking really good!
Thank you guys... Yes the bow next to the Osage is my Yew trade bow. I've been workin my tail off and haven't had a chance to get back at them but I'm off on wed and thurs... Maybe I can find that 300# winch to string my leaf spring at the same time :)
