Title: Binham's Takedown Drilling Jig
Post by: perry f. on January 27, 2012, 06:45:00 PM
Just wondered if a drill press is required when drilling the riser and limb while using the drilling jig? My video shows them not using a drill press on the riser but then using it on the limbs. I don't own one but have access to one. I thought the jig kept the bit straight.

I've done it in the past without a press and it works fine as long as your jig stays put.

Same with me...I have never used a drill press when making a take down.

Be careful that you don't enlarge the holes on the jig as they are not hardned steel.  Drill press would be nice but not necessary.
