Title: Prototyping risers ?
Post by: T Folts on January 25, 2012, 12:40:00 PM
I want to build a couple riser for prototype work and was wondering what's the standard wood for this type of work, strong, cheap and easy to sand.
I am making  takedown risers.

Thanks
Terry

Maple comes to mind.

Yep.. maple is the staple.  Plus, easy to get a hold of.  I go to the local hardwood shop and grab a 8/4 board for around 50 bucks.. it will make up to 4 or 5 bows.
