I've got a dogleg in an osage I'm tillering. Should I stop now and heat it and straighten it; or should I finish the tillering and then bend. It is about 1/4 " off center.
Where in the bow is the dog leg? Can you post pics? Osage bends very easily and well with dry heat. Is the 1/4" off on the left(assuming you are right handed)side of the bow. If so, I wouldn't worry about it. Have you gotten to low brace yet? If not, wait until then to see how the string tracks under tension.
I agree with Pat. You can warm and subtly bend osage anytime. I have plenty of times after bows where already sealed and shot in, with no damage done.
Thanks for the reply.
That tip needs to move to the right.
No Pics over 640 wide
LOL, when you said dog leg you wasn't kidding:) I think you better straighten that right now..
How does a string lay when you clamp it on both tips centered?
It would be fine to make the correction now but you may have to again after first brace.
MOJAM in the background?
Administrators: sorry about the big pic. Couldn't figure out how to reduce it. I'll read photobucket instructions again.
