pls help me out guys....!!!
Measure the bow tip to tip, subtract 3" and buy a B50 string of that length at 3 Rivers Archery.
will look into that .......the guy at the shop said ill need one with a long loop....or somehting..... said it was a horse bow or something like that ......sry im dumb ....will that affect what i buy ?
ty for ya post.....i really cant wait to shoot this...
Yes, the way the ends are on those bows will affect what you buy. 3Rivers probably won't be able to help you.
You could probably buy a replacement string from the bow's maker but without knowing who that is it's difficult to know where to point you.
Give Chad a call at Champion Custom Bowstrings (http://www.recurves.com/bowstrings.html) and he'll be able to walk you through the information he needs to make a string for you.
Guy
sweet thank you .........ill be giving him a ring on monday....wooooohoooooo.......
being a horse bow the top siyah will be longer than the bottom one( this was to facilitate easier crossing of the neck and withers to make off side shots- so your loops will be two different lengths- i can take some measurements off my grozer hunnish bow for you this evening and post it.- there might be some similarity

well heck yea.....thanks again guys......any help i can get ill take ......any more info i can get will surly help.......thanks again.......

I suspect this may vary by bow model and design.
I just measured my Grozer and the bow is completely symetrical. Both loops on the factory string are also the same size.

INTERESTING......woot im so glad that im finally getting some help and info on this bow.....like i said the people who made it jsut hung me out to dry over email .....im going to order at least 3 strings when i get the chace....calling the string maker monday.... :)
ill let everyone know as soon as i can shoot this thing...
If you get a flemish twist string with a loop on one end you could just us a bowers knot on the other. I would start long and then you could just shorten it until you get the right length that way.
KellyG has a great idea.
With a regular recurve or longbow a stringmaker can tell you how to measure the bow so he can make the string the right length.
If the complex curves on a horsebow makes that difficult then it would be easy to put a one-eye string on as Kellyg mentions, measure it, and then you'll have the right length for a two-eyed string.
If the stringmaker you speak with is unsure of the length, PM me and I'll send you a one-eye Flemish string that you can use to determine the right length.
This is the same procedure I use when making a wood bow. I just keep shortening the tiller string until the bow is finished and at full brace, then it's an easy measurement to determine how long to make the final string.

u guys are awesome ........thanks so much .....i know nothing about measuring a bow ....sry im new n dumb.....but i get the drift so far.....wouldnt know where to start yet into making a string ...but i do have a amateur bow maker thats a friend of mine....hes been trying to hep but is wiry of making a string for this bow since he has never dealt with one .....
i may be wrong here kelly- but it seems the way these siyahs are built- you need the larger loop to slige down either side of it, with just a bowyers knot the string would slip of one side or the other.
and yes grey- there are a bunch of different models- on grozers site there seem to be dozens of them- it was primarily( and i might very well stand to be corrected on this one) the huns who built the bows with different lenth siyahs, for the ease of shooting astride- that obviously doesnt mean that you cant shoot with other bows astride- just the history- but in all honesty i honestly cant see what difference a couple a inches would make on already crazy short bows anyway!!??
say how do you like your Grozer
mine is really superfast, and really accurate- consistant.
just hardly use it 'cos i didnt build it i geuss- just stubborn- an like to shoot my own.
the length of the eyes is also important- so that at brace height, where the string leaves contact with the siyah, is where you want the loop to be ending- too long and i would worry about it slipping off the back of the nock- too short and the string will still torque to one side or the other.
i will get some pics and measurements in the morning- and if the bows dimensions are close, i can build you a string- and lets see how it works- what is the poundage on the bow
Will you post a side profile of your bow. To me it look like a Molle or Holmegaard type bow. If so a normal bow string will work. If it in fact is a horse b
ow a string with an elongated string would be in order.
if i look at the shadows on the pic , i can see the exaggerated recurved tips and what looks like a deflexed limb section- but a side profile pic will be the answer. my horse bow is reflexed over the entire bow from the handle out- with the siyahs even more reflexed.
wayne
Shaped like a Mollegabet but you can tell that the levers are reflexed pretty good.
The tips don't look like thick, narrow siyahs like is typical on an Asiatic horn bow but more like reflexed Molle tips. If the nocks are cut like a regular bow a regular string should work. If set up like a horn bow siyah you will need a different string loop set up.
took some more pix......ill get them posted up tonight........
