Had this one done for a month or so now. 50@27 66 tpt. 1 1/2 wide tapering to barely over 1/2. Osage tip overlays. Handle is now wrapped is gutted parachute cord which works great. Finished with Tru-oil. Thanks to everyone who commented on my questions with this one. This is my 6th one.

Good lookin hickory stick. Skins look Great!
Very sharp Bow.. ^5
Thank you kindly folks.
Nice bow, jumper. You did well with the skins, also. I've got a former athlete saving a rattler skin for me, hope I do as well as you.
Red,
That was my first skinning job. If I can do it, anyone can!
thats a beauty! I really like the Hickory with the Osage tips. how thick are the limbs? I have made a couple of red oak board bows and would really like to try hickory so I can go narrower (in width not thickness) at the fades. thanks for sharing the pics!

sorry for the double post! having computer issues
nice looking stick
Okie, If I recollect correctly...well i can't recollect. I'll have to measure and see.
Good work, that looks great. How does it shoot?
I'm liking that :)
Very nice Bow!!
Thanks guys.
Norman,
It shoots real good. I shot it through a chrono with some sugar maple arrows which averaged 775 grains and got 135 fps. Slow but hit hard. I then made me some popular shaft and they averaged almost 200 grains lighter. I haven't got to shoot them through the chrono yet but I did test them for distance and they bested the sugar maple by 20 to 30 ft.
Man...that is a good looking bow! You did good.
Thanks Martin. Got another going. Shooting it in right now and gonna skin it too. May try copperheads this time.
Just saw you bow, really nice. Great colors. Where do you get your skins, I;m gonna try that. Also, which goes on first - tips or skins?
Wolf,
I got skins locally from a guy that found them denned up in his yard. Tips go on first.
Nice looking bow!
Great looking bow!
Ernie
