. Whats your thoughts on SASSAFRAS SELFBOWS ! GOOD ? BAD???

Good. I have yet to try it but I have some cured. I've head it does make a decent bow.

Made one. It is an ok wood. Make it wide like 2-2.5 in. and appropriately long enough fo your draw length. Jawge

I just received some sassafras billets to make a bow out of myself.  Is there any need to back it?  I'm not sure I can get 2.5" out of them.

Dont know about selfbows but it is a good core for glass bows--smells good when you work it.
