Can anyone tell me how much you need to reduce stack on a 60" Binghams TD recurve if you add .020 carbon in core?
Thanks!
Can't help with a curve Kenny but my T/D longbow with Binghams carbon (.035),on the back only, I reduce the stack 15-20%.
You're using carbon in the core not the back?
Not me, but a customer. He has the carbon and wants the rest.
So far I've learned if used under glass and veneers on back, the glass and veneer total should be .030 or less!
on a longbow, if you use .020 carbon on the back instead of glass, how much would you deduct from the total stack
.020 carbon from Binghams will add almost 15 pounds to my D/R Longbow.
.025 rule of thumb when placed on the back is the carbon thickness plus 5 lbs. I like to go just the carbon thickness and then side taper a bit to reduce poundage if necessary.
Good luck and God bless you, Steve
Thanks guys, it is shipped, will see how it goes!
Hey Kenny.... if you put that stuff in the core keep it as close to the back as possible and use real thin veneers, and really thin glass to get the most benifit.
and if it's in the core i wouldn't drop the stack height much at all, if any... or you'll end up light. Uni is pretty much useless in a RC under veneers bro.... a black racing stripe is what you get...
now you start playing with the Matrix carbon, and it's a different story...... STABILITY!
