Mahogany does not make a good core for a tri-lam.

What about handles?  My brother gave me some really nice 2.5" chunks in odd lengths that just seem to be screaming at me to become handles.

Oh yeah, great for handles, just has no compression or flex at all.

That's kinda what I figured.  BTW, thanks for taking one for the team, i.e. using mahongany in a tri-lam.

I had mahogany fail on me in a handle before, I'd be wary of it or at least back it up with something else.
