Awesome. I have been having problems splitting my staves, and this helps in a few ways. But i do have one question: Does the tree from which I cut my stave have to be 6+in. in diameter? Or is this just something preferably when working with osage?

it all depends on what wood youre using and what bows you intend to make...

some you use heartwood , others , sap... it also helps to have a bigger tree because there is less natural "crown" to the stave...
