Heres some pics of one I was working through out the summer when I was waiting on others to cool or glue to dry or what ever. I pretty well had it done a few months ago and it just needed shot in and finished up but sat in the corner while I built several trade bows that didn't make the cut. Finally got around to finish this one up for season.
She is 47.5" Tip to tip 46" ntn, pulls 51# at 23" mocassin skins and hemp handle wrap. She shoots good and hard and will hopefully make meat this fall.

Wow there's nothing about that little bow I don't like except maybe it's not mine and 50@27"s :) The skins are killer and the lite and dark yew belly looks great. Did you use sinew under the skins being so short?
Great job!!!
No sinew,
I did a little heat to gently flip the tips a smidge. It was naturally reflexed about an inch and took about 3.5 of set which I expected more than that really. Part of that set was losing the reflex. still shoots pretty good though and it's a blast to shoot. I didn't know how I would do shooting short draw but the shot pics are at about 15 yds so I'd say I'm good to go.
Stiks
It may be a shorty but those arrows are right where they need to be.... may be a deer or two in trouble out your way :)
Real nice Kris! I have to try those tips someday. I see'm, I like'm but I've never tried them once?
Skins look awsome! :clapper:
Beautiful ! Good hunting.
Nice Stiks...
Thanks for the compliments guys
Coaster it shoots great for sure.
Joe I tried those style of knocks on a different bow and came to love em. Really knocks alot off the mass and helps speed things up for sure
Charles, those are a pair of skins I got from you and I love the way they turned out on that creamy white yew back.
kris, i think your bow looks great! i like everything about it. good luck this hunting season. rv
Wow that is a great looking bow for sure kris. Looks like if a deer does it part the bow will do it's and as long as you do yours their will be meat hanging.
But Kelly you're forgetting one thing,,, the arrows part! :biglaugh:
great tiller and finish work on a cool bow kris!
Nice, Stiks. Excellent bow.
Thought I'd let you guy's and gal's know that I won BOM over on PA with this sweet little short bow.
Congratulations! That's a bow very much worthy of BOM. Can't wait to see it in print.
Good deal. Be sure and save a copy for your grandkids to see!
That's awesome!
This is the one I saw in "person" isn't Kris. Congratulations! It is a sweet little bow for sure!
Bona
Sure is Bona.
Tha is a sweet little bow Kris and well deserving of the BOM honors
Great looking bow!
:notworthy: nice little bow !!
It's ok I guess:)
:deadhorse:
Stiks I think your yew bow is beautiful. Pictures do not do it justus. I'd a voted for it to be BOM. Shoots fast and hard but to be honest with you the best part of your bow is that it is a looker. wow. congradulations
almost forgot, what is wrong with the deer down there. Them antlers are backwards.
Very cool bow, and congrats on the honor! So rad.
