Title: WARNING; for binghams beginners kits.
Post by: fujimo on August 17, 2011, 12:02:00 AM
hiya all.
just a gentle note about a small/major problem i found in the binghams r/d take down longbow kit.
i bought the whole kaboodle at least 6 months ago- and while building the form today, i have dicovered that the brackets for holding  the top part of the form to the bottom half of the form- DO NOT correspond with their blueprints. the holes are at least a 1/2" off.
so just check out your kit carefully befor drilling any holes( ask me how i figured this out!!!).

having said this, all the service, delivery times and product supplied have been excellent thus far.

just want to give other builders the heads up.
i will contact bingham in the morning.

Thanks, Along with the prints I also bought the DVD.. seems like the Binghams DVD shows them placing the brackets on the form and drawing the holes. I did that and used my drill press to drill the holes.

found the same thing last year.  Fortunately, I caught it.  Ended up making a whole new unit from scratch for a second form, then found I hated the whole pressure hose system and went back to clamps.

Not to change topic, but could I see some pics of your form with clamps, Dick?
