Title: stabilizer insert
Post by: mwosborn on August 07, 2011, 08:15:00 PM
Just purchased a new to me bear grizzly to replace one that recently blew up in my garage.  The lady who sold it to me indicated it had 1 hole drilled in it.  I assumed it was a hole someone drilled in the riser for some kind of sight.  When I get the bow, the hole is actually the front insert hole with no insert - good news!

I would like to take the insert out of the old broken bow and put it into the new one.  Does anyone have suggestions on:

1) removing the insert from the broken bow.

2) putting it into the new bow.

Thanks for any help.

Mitch

I think it will be very hard, to remove the insert, without destroying it. I would just order one from 3 rivers and epoxy it in. They are fairly inexpensive. Don

Just checked 3 rivers. The inserts are 2.50 each, item number: 5341. I would use some two part epoxy to install. 3 rivers has that also but wally world does to.  Don

To get the insert out of the old one, run a bolt in it and heat the crap out of the bolt.

Then wirebrush the old glue off.

If it doesn't look good enough to use, buy a new one like Don said!
