I fleshed some skins I had in the freezer today. Man do these things stink after they have been awhile. I do believe that rotten snake is the worst smell I have ever encountered in my life. Anyway, here are the new skins.
First one is eight foot long.

This one is only about three and a half feet.

Reticulated python and corn milk snake are my guesses.
I'm gonna say python for the first and hognosed snake for the second.....Dan
Ball python and rat snake ?
Oops probably not a ball if 8 foot, reticuladed python?
The first one is a dead snake...and the second one is a dead snake too.
lol balding kansan
Balding hit the nail on the head didn't he Rudy!! Let me get back in my chair from rolling around laughing!!
definitly not ball python, not rat snake, and not hognose. Definitly dead.
I'm saying Dumerils boa and gopher snake or bull snake as some would say

you're definitely right on the python, I'm not sure of the smaller snake.
No matter what they are. I kinda like them.
The one thing that has stopped me from putting some on my bow is the fear of snakes. I would imagine that if I seen it laying on the ground after getting out of the tree stand I would do either of the following.
1) run like hell
2) stomp the pees out of it.
Either would be not so good.
Dave, have you ever cleaned an eel? Those things stink when they're fresh!
Last week my wife brought me an old "tanned" rattle snake skin she'd found while cleaning out a storage room. I've read where tanned skins are no good for backing a bow. Maybe it'll make accents on a quiver or something.
Round snakes made flat is my guess...
how did you get hold of them dvs- particularily the python!!??!!
Ok Dvs what do I win? Just kidding. Heres mine the third one to the right is a gopher snake skin. (http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq78/artlemos/P7200001.jpg)
those are some awesome looking snakes.
fuji- I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. Haha.all I can say is I get em by the trash bag full ever few months. Pm me and we can talk.
DVS, ya need to grow a bigger set and catch them big snakes:)

The one looks like a Columbian Boa the other a small bullsnake
DVS I did some goggling and have to agree it is a bull snake. On the smaller one.
I think the smaller one is a bullsnake. At least my searches agree with kelly's.
The bigger snake is a dumerlis python. I think I have two more in the freezer. If I do, I'll give enough to snake a bow to someone maybe.
DVS, how much ya need for it Son?
if you want one roy, you'll have to trade me for one. These skins to me are priceless :readit:
having said that ole buddy how about a bow a foot? :goldtooth:
Deal, how many broken bows ya want? :knothead:
