Title: Bow Blanks
Post by: Nesbo1482 on July 03, 2011, 01:40:00 PM
Hey all,

I am new to making selfbows and wanted to get my feet wet by finishing off a bow blank.  Could any of you give me some names of some reputable places or people that sell bow blanks ready for tillering?  Thank you.

Gary Davis of Rattlestick Bows has the best out there.

John Scifres is a sponsor and will treat you good. Go over to the sponsor classifieds and he has a blank for sale or send him a PM.

Stiks

I didn't realize John sold bow blanks. Either one of these guys, Gary or John,  will treat you right!

I think John just started a few months ago Pat.

I got a hackberry blank from John and built the Molly that Larry Surtees posted a while back. I wouldn't hesitate a moment buying from John or any one that Pat recommends.

I have a great blank from John Scifres.  He is great to do business with and does what it takes to get you the right piece of osage.

Gary Davis is one of the best, no doubt. He's done over a thousand blanks in the past 20 years.

Where you at in Michigan? Gary will help ya in person work the blank, like at the Great lakes shoot in Aug.

I'm sure John has great blanks to, he knows his osage, too!

Mike Yancy is another, that sells blanks and staves!
