looking good sweet shooter it seems
It shoots great. Thanks
Nice job, You don't see much English walnut. Very nice, God bless you , Steve
You have very nice bows as well Steve and God Bless you too.
Nice job!! That walnut looks great.
That is only the second T/D I have attempted. I gotta give some credit to KennyM for getting me some good lams though.
thats an awesome looking bow. i love that riser. don
Stone, that is a sharp riser. Very nice bow.
Stan
Thanks all I appreciate all your kind words and encouragement
Sweet-lookin bow stone. I bet it shoots hard too. Never seen english walnut before, didnt realize it was that much lighter in color than american walnut.
Sweet bow bro!!
We use it in gun stocks a bunch. So when I saw we had this blank laying around that wasn't big enough for a stock I jumped at it.
Kenny this bow wouldn't have been possible without the sweet lams you have been sending me. I am almost ready to get some more from you thanks for everything
Not trying to change the subject but what kind of guns do you build Stone?
Very nice curve!!!
Okie we use to deal with nothing but custom weatherby's and high end double rifles and drillings. Now we handle just about everything you can imagine. My father is an artist when it comes to custom rifles and wood working. If you want I can take some pics for you
Nice looking for sure. How is that walnut for strength? If it is like american black walnut you might want to think about laminating it in your next riser.
It is very strong I have never had any problem out of walnut before. Use it all the time on big bore rifle stocks and on bows. Crooked stic have you had troubles from it? maybe I need to do some more research.
I dont know anything about the english walnut. But if it it does compare to black walnut it is just not strong enough alone for a TD riser. Kirk of Bigfoot bows will verify that. Although a couple of accents running thru the riser from end to end of a stronger wood will give the throat and shelf area plenty of strength. I have use Claro walnut and it to needs laminating.
Great Job Lester! You've really come along way with your bow making. I can see where your headed.
Before you know it you'll be knocking out custom glass bows left and right. Nice work.
Here is a pretty good site on wood facts I just aint learned what it all means yet :biglaugh: web page (http://www.wood-database.com/wood-identification/#i)
I'd love to see some pics of some of you guys custom stocks.
Chris, Thanks so much that means a lot from you all on here to complement the bows I have made it's like approval from the masters :notworthy:
Crooked stic thanks I will check it out.
Okie I will get some pics here in a few minutes and send them to you
Okie sorry to overload you with pics I would have posted them here but I didn't think the guns would fly on the bowyers bench lol
