That is only the second T/D I have attempted. I gotta give some credit to KennyM for getting me some good lams though.

Sweet-lookin bow stone. I bet it shoots hard too. Never seen english walnut before, didnt realize it was that much lighter in color than american walnut.

We use it in gun stocks a bunch. So when I saw we had this blank laying around that wasn't big enough for a stock I jumped at it.

Okie we use to deal with nothing but custom weatherby's and high end double rifles and drillings. Now we handle just about everything you can imagine. My father is an artist when it comes to custom rifles and wood working. If you want I can take some pics for you

Nice looking for sure. How is that walnut for strength? If it is like american black walnut you might want to think about laminating it in your next riser.

It is very strong I have never had any problem out of walnut before. Use it all the time on big bore rifle stocks and on bows. Crooked stic have you had troubles from it? maybe I need to do some more research.

I dont know anything about the english walnut. But if it it does compare to black walnut it is just not strong enough alone for a TD riser. Kirk of Bigfoot bows will verify that. Although a couple of accents running thru the riser from end to end of a stronger wood will give the throat and shelf area plenty of strength. I have use Claro walnut and it to needs laminating.

Great Job Lester! You've really come along way with your bow making. I can see where your headed.
Before you know it you'll be knocking out custom glass bows left and right. Nice work.
