Is there going to be a thing for 2011 where you enter your name in and each of you draw a name out and build a bow for the person you draw?
I believe that is run under the bowmakers forum.
Tyler,
we put that together on the bowyers bench. we sign up in January and bows are due out the first week of July.
Stiks
Could there possibly be one started now and the bows be done by Christmas time?
Doubt we would have much participation now Tyler. The next one will be in Jan.
It would be nice if it would be done twice a year.
Volunteering? :)
Tyler go on the bench and see if you have any interest in a Christmas swap. I Cant do that one yet, but let me see how the swap goes next year. You can organize it. You might get a few in it. I bet there would be one or two who would do it. Don't really know but you can ask.
Depending on the deadline I might get in it or I might not? Depends on how things are going toward the end of summer. It's hard to get motivated to build a bow when it's over 100 deg. in the garage.
Tyler -
Maybe a Kid-Bow gift option with just one delivery point and then people could enter the name and address of a deserving kid?
Hey, I'm an idea guy.
va
va,
I like the kid idea.
But starting a bow in the summer and finishing during hunting season may deter a lot of people compared to the cabin-fever start in January.
I kinda look at it like canopyboy.
You could put up a post to ask if there would be any interest. I wouldn't get in for the reasons of hunting season. I usually try to get myself a bow built for hunting and arrows and everything else that goes with it.
I will be doing the annual TG bow swap again every year though.
Stiks
I would be in if one was started.
tyler you get it goin either way im in brock
If it's a kid bow option I might be in for a Hackberry bow, but I would need more info than what we got with the adult bow swap.
I've got 2 nephews that I made osage longbows for and made some mistakes the first time around because I couldn't gather much info. They were Christmas presents so I was relying on my older brother to give me some specs, lets just say he's not much of a trad guy and the specs he gave me were ball park at best.
They did turn out real well and they really enjoy shooting them, but in hindsight I would have made them a bit stronger so they could use them another year or two before out growing them.
I would do this one again in a heartbeat, I would not however be up for another one this year. Huntin season is fixin to start in just six weeks and I need to get some shooting in or I will simply not be ready for the game. January is a great time to start these things to bust up the cabin fever. DEFINITELY next year...
