I hear lots about T-Bird finishes and I am going to finally make the switch from Fullerplast. It seems like there is a lot of info out there about the "epoxy" version of T-Bird.... but has anyone used the "polyurethane conversion varnish?" I just bought a can of it along with the thinner and am looking for some tips or general direction in it's use? I plan on spraying it with my normal touch-up air sprayer that I used with the Fullerplast.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
One more question about bow finish...
Will T-Bird spray over another finish as a refinish... or do you have to sand every bit of the old finish off first??
I use the T Bird poly finish and like it a lot. It is a pretty hot solvent in its early stage and will melt some slower solvent finishes. If you have to touch it up after you must use regular polyurathane because it is the colder solvent and will not muck up surface.
I've used it a bunch and really like it. I found it durable and very easy to apply. The fast dry time is great for easy multiple sprays and keeps the dust out of it.
I've used it before and really liked the way it dries so fast. My spraying conditions are not always perfect and I'm always afraid a fly will find its way into the tbird epoxy. I switched to the epoxy because you can touch up or respray a bow without sanding the old finish off. The poly goes on as a laquer which will lift or krinkle alot of finishes because it dries so fast.
