These are two takedown recurves I'm currently working on, the riser on the left is Claro Walnut with Bloodwood and Chechen accents it will have limbs of tiger myrtle veneers from IdahoCurt. The one on the right is Black Walnut and persimmon with purple Heart accents. I'll post more pics when I finish the limbs

Those are beautiful! I love the horn accents. :)
Your craftmanship is beyond what I can hope to aspire to, so dont get this wrong.
I took the liberty to edit your photo because the handle sections are exquisit. (http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af73/Holten101/Picture013-2.jpg)
Cheers....and thanks for providing inspiration:-)
Outstanding!
they look great. i have to ask one ? where are the limb alignment pins?
Thanks everyone for your comments. The edited photo looks alot better, Thanks. Once the limbs are completed and bottom limb is determined, I'll face drill the index pin holes after everything is lined up. Tony
I finished one of the bows today, it has claro walnut limbs with deer antler tips. The finished weight is 45# @ 29". Shot it through a chronograph also, 560 grain arrow, 172 fps. I'm well pleased. Tony

That is one nice looking bow-great job!
Beautiful work Tony!

great looking bows!
Wow...awsome bow and very fast too (172 fps with 45#/29" is very fast indeed with 560 grs arrow).
I love some of the smaller details, like how the "reflexed" red veneer in the handle is "continued", shape wise, by the proximal end of the limbs....nice touch:-)
Cheers...and thanks for not taking offence with me touching up your first photo (that was impolite of me)

Tony
do you put an alignment pin in the riser for the limbs? I don't see one in this pic (I I am just missing it)
Regards
Jake
All I can say is WOW!!! Beautiful wood and work....Dan
beautiful work
Jake at this stage I just drill the limb holes, after the limds are completed, I'll determine the bottom limb, line everthing up and then face drill and install index pins for the limbs. This seems to work best for me. I epoxy a thin piece of wood to cover the holes. Tony
