Title: Crack Repair
Post by: WildmanSC on May 10, 2011, 08:14:00 PM
I have a crack in the glass of the lower limb of both the Recurve and Longbow limbs of my Bill Stewart MCTD.  The cracks are in the identical location and are essentially the same length.  Below is a pic of the longbow lower limb.

I would appreciate any suggestions/recommendations for repairing the cracks.

Bill

Use some thin CA glue (super glue) to fill the crack. Make sure the inside of the hole is sealed too. Cracks like that are usually caused by over tightening or the wood expanding because the holes are not sealed-moisture getting into the wood.

David,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll get some CA and do the repair Saturday.

Thanks!

Don,

Thanks!  I found the thread.  It'll be helpful.  I won't be able to do the repair Saturday.  I forgot that my wife and I'll be in the Atlanta area Saturday visiting our son and his family.  It'll have to wait until a week from Saturday.
